Struck down but Never destroyed

"We're not perfect. We make mistakes. We screw up, but then we forgive, and we move forward. At least you have the courage to feel. You feel everything so deeply." Nicholas Sparks
Updates on life. Still thankful for the support from all my friends who've helped me realise that there are people who blind themselves with lies because they can't handle the truth. Also, wallowing in self pity is a no-no. This is entire saga is not worth my time. "Crying isn't an indication that you're weak, since birth it's always been a sign that you're alive." I'll strive to channel constructive-ity out of negative emotions. My grades will not be affected by this. (I'm putting this up so that you guys have the right to scold me if they drop). Lastly, I will be a great success in life. Watch me.

To you; who feels weary.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. It's not just in some of us; it is in everyone. And as we let our own lights shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others. "

Love

Being in love is a good thing, but it is not the best thing. It is a noble feeling, but it is still a feeling. No feeling can be relied on to last in its full intensity, or even to last at all. Knowledge can last, principles can last, habits can last; but feelings come and go.
But of course, ceasing to be ‘in love’ need not mean ceasing to love. Love in this second sense is not merely a feeling. It is a deep unity, maintained by the will, deliberately strengthened by habit and reinforced by grace. [Partners] can have this love for each other even at moments when they do not like each other; as you love yourself even when you do not like yourself. They can retain this love even when each could easily, if they allowed themselves, be ‘in love’ with someone else.

edit#1: Ok. I'll fix my blog layout later. Too busy dying from Art History now.
for when i am weak, then i am strong
Hell week [or, namely, Wednesday] is over. This 2hours-of-sleep a night thing over prolong periods isn't working out for me or my over reactingly acidic stomach. Glad we can all finally breathe a loud sigh, now that Art History presentation&exam and CritWriting is over. All we have to do is practise for our gig next Wednesday. LOL, who am I kidding. School workload is a never ending pile of mess. My eyebags are engulfing my face and I shall never see daylight again.
struck down but not destroyed

“Nobody tells this to people who are beginners, I wish someone told me. All of us who do creative work, we get into it because we have good taste. But there is this gap. For the first couple years you make stuff, it’s just not that good. It’s trying to be good, it has potential, but it’s not. But your taste, the thing that got you into the game, is still killer. And your taste is why your work disappoints you. A lot of people never get past this phase, they quit. Most people I know who do interesting, creative work went through years of this. We know our work doesn’t have this special thing that we want it to have. We all go through this. And if you are just starting out or you are still in this phase, you gotta know its normal and the most important thing you can do is do a lot of work. Put yourself on a deadline so that every week you will finish one story. It is only by going through a volume of work that you will close that gap, and your work will be as good as your ambitions. And I took longer to figure out how to do this than anyone I’ve ever met. It’s gonna take awhile. It’s normal to take awhile. You’ve just gotta fight your way through.”

Starships
Gotta pull myself together & move along.
This too shall pass.
and in that moment, I swear, we were infinite

Second Guessing
Allow love to flow in and out of your life because with love, comes heartbreak and both of those things are equally powerful.

The Last Song
Personally, I detest watching cheesy love movies. Why'd you give yourself a chance for mindless crying? But since I've got nothing better to do than to laze around & wait to get better today (so boredddd. there ain't no thermometers at home. that's how long anybody has been sick in this house), I watched The Last Song:
"You have a right to shut down, but please don't push me away.
"But that's what I do.. I push people away…"
"We're not perfect. We make mistakes. We screw up, but then we forgive, and we move forward. At least you have the courage to feel. You feel everything so deeply."
Nobody explains it better than Nicholas Sparks.
"Sometimes you have to be apart from the people you love, but that doesn't make you love them any less. Sometimes it makes you love them even more."
"Someday you are gonna open your heart, and you're gonna play again. and it's not gonna be to make your mother happy. It's not gonna be to make me happy. It'll be for you. Because music, love, they're gonna bring you joy."
Most importantly, "Love is not always enough..."
I hate cheesy movies. Can't emphasise that enough. But what they say, somehow or another, always make so much sense.

"He has showed you, O man, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God." Micah 6:8 (NIV 1984)
This's been drumming on my heart for awhile now. I found it so familiar in QT today; only to recall that it was being mentioned on Sunday.
"I didn't ask for mercy, but mercy asked for me."
"
"The truth might hurt, but the truth also heals.. In order for it to heal, you need to believe that it will."

Gonna start posting Dr. Seuss's quotes. They're queer, but naise.
They remind me of
Those were the days when I'd over contrast and saturate my photos.
In my distress I called to the LORD; I cried to my God for help. From his temple he heard my voice; my cry came before him, into his ears.

GO FORTH- Levi's
Was flipping through Catalogue Mag after koping one from the FMS office and saw this marvelous ad by Levi's. Came home and saw it playing on MTV (edit1).Personally, I've been totally swept away by the new Levi's Go Forth Campaign. It's a mix of professional tumblr inspire pictures and indie handwritten copies. If their target audience are people our age, boy, would everyone be wearing a pair of levi's now. It's really more of a PR campaign for me. I can't exactly see how the copy on the ads relate to jeans (lol), but.. it works. Lol.Anyways, I really can't stand the Levi's jeans cuts. They never fit me. But after seeing this ad, damnit, I just need a pair- and I don't even care if I'm going to wear them. It's so inspirational and .... indie. I've even gotten the magazine cut out for the last picture above at me work desk because it's just so meaningful.
This's their TVC:
(This's what they say in the TVC. At least this's what I think they're saying.)
Your life is your life. Don't let it be cloud into days of mission. Beyond the watch. There are ways out. There is light somewhere. There may not be much light but it beats the darkness. Beyond the watch. The Gods will offer you chances. now them. Take them. You can't beat death. But you can beat death in life, sometimes. The more often you learn to do it, the more light there will be. Your life is your life. Know it while you have it. You are marvelous. The Gods wait to delight in you.Absolutely marvelous.
Renoir
The French artist Pierre Auguste Renoir was a leader in the early Impressionist movement. For the last two decades of his life, Renoir had to adapt his painting style to accomodate debilitating arthritis. He sometimes strapped a brush to his immobile, deformed fingers in order to continue his work.
One of his closest friends, Henri Matisse watched him struggle to apply each bruhstroke.
Matisse asked,"Why do you continue to paint when you're in such agony?"Renoir replied,"The beauty remains; the passes."
Pain passes but the beauty of wonder splendors around us will remain for eternity.
